A little hindsight would be nice, yes? Yes.
Tim and I met in July of 2002. It was "total embarrassing crush at first sight". You might laugh at that..but you have yet to hear "our story".
I liked Tim. He was cute, quiet and kind. He was friends with a bunch of my friends so it was only a matter of time before we met. He played softball on a local beer league that a handful of my friends played in. He often reminds me of the first time we met. I was walking across a baseball field (totally not caring about the game going on) while I was looking for my friends. I had been doing laundry that day, so I wore sweats, a t-shirt and my favorite red and white Allen Iverson Tennis shoes...nothing glamorous. He smiles, I smiled back..
In the weeks to come, I went to every single game, practice and hung out with the team after the games. The girlfriends (my friends) made posters for their guys on game days with glitter, poster board..you name it. It was really just a great way for the girls to get a couple of cocktails in before a game, really- but it was cute. One game day, I made a sign with all of the guys names on it and RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE was "TIM" in size 72 font with gold glitter... I spent so much time on it that everyone else's names were about 14 font and written with sharpie...oops. Needless to say, somebody knew I had a crush on him.
I guess the embarrassing part to the story, was when my friend Kelly and I were at the guys house..(her boyfriend Mike, Tim and Joe shared an apartment). We were standing at the counter and I saw a piece of mail addressed to Tim Beamenderfer". "BEAMENDERFER?" I said, as we laughed. I grabbed a pen, a piece of paper and I wrote my whole entire first name, middle name and the elusive "Beamenderfer" about 5 times on a piece of paper. My first name, being almost as long as "Beamenderfer" looked hilarious on this piece of paper... we laughed, threw it out and forgot all about it.
Tim found it the next day..asked me out and such is the beginning of TEAM BEAM.
